God is Seeking You Through His Son Jesus

Scott Vernon with a kill
There is a reason why the hair stands up on the back of your neck when you watch the sunrise from your deer stand or when the tip of your rod snaps down toward the water.
God made you to know Him, and He is seeking you through the outdoors—His creation—and through His Son, Jesus Christ. He created us with the intention that we would know Him in His glory. He has surrounded us with evidence of Himself and He keeps the evidence of His existence squarely before us.
In the outdoors, you see the greatness of God, and in Jesus, you see the grace of God.
We Have All Missed the Mark
Romans 3:23 - "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God;"
It is like trying to make a clear shot when the sight on your bow is off or trying to shoot with a bent arrow. No matter how hard you try—you're going to miss. It is impossible. We have all missed the mark of perfection required to get into heaven. Our sin creates fear and separation from God, when He only wants to love us.
You are Being Hunted

3 generations of hunters:
Scott, son Brandon and Scott’s dad Ronnie
Hunting involves pursuing game. Unlike the animals which flee to survive, God comes to you and seeks you out to be your Friend. The Bible tells us that we don't have the ability to pursue God, but He is pursuing us and chasing us down to belong to Him! God pursues us passionately and His Son Jesus gave up His life for us in that pursuit of us.
Romans 3:10-11 - as it is written, "There is none righteous, no, not one; there is none who understands, there is none who seeks after God;"
Romans 8:28 - More Than Conquerors - And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.
He Pursues You Because He Loves You
Romans 5:8 - "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
1 John 4:19 - We love Him because He first loved us.
However, You are also Being Hunted by Another
I Peter 5:8 - "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."
John 10:10 – “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
You are being pursued by Satan, as well as God. You choose who captures you.
Choose Jesus Now
II Corinthians 6:2 - “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
Joshua 24:15 - And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve,... But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
There is no “almost” in salvation. Until a sinner has definitely accepted Jesus Christ as Savior, he has definitely rejected Him. Some of you who read this will say, “I’ll get saved someday”, or “I’ll have to think about it first.” You may have the best of intentions, but until you have definitely accepted Jesus Christ as Savior, you have definitely rejected Him. Don’t be “almost” saved, but not quite.
Choose now because you are not promised tomorrow—it may never come. We are guaranteed only this breath, not the next. If you have never received Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, I urge you to do so today, this very moment!
Let God Capture Your Heart
How do I let God capture my heart? Romans 10:9-11 - "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, 'Whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”
Prayer is talking to God. God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words, as He is with the attitude of your heart. To confess Jesus as Lord of your life and to demonstrate your trust in Him, pray this suggested prayer:
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner; I want you to capture my heart. I know that you are God's only Son and that you gave your life for me on the Cross and that you rose from the dead to save me from my sin. I invite you to come into my life and I surrender control of my life to you. I will follow you for the rest of my life. Thank you, Jesus for saving me.
That's the Truth...about being captured by God, by Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, who will live in your heart, forever.

Now, as a way to grow closer to Him, the Bible tells us to follow up on our commitment:
• Get baptized as commanded by Jesus Christ.
• Tell someone else about your new faith in Jesus Christ.
• Spend time with God each day. It does not have to be a long period of time. Just develop the daily habit of praying to Him and reading His Word. Ask God to increase your faith, your trust and your understanding of the Bible—His Word to you to help you in your daily life.
• Seek fellowship with other followers of Jesus Christ. Develop a group of believing friends to answer your questions and support you in your faith.
• Find a local church where you can worship God and follow Jesus Christ.
